Partners and Cooperations
- Autcom Research Cluster Vienna University of Technology
The research cluster Autcom was founded by four institutes of the Vienna University of Technology and the Institute for Integrated Sensor Systems to establish a prolific environment for top research in the area of automation and computer technology.
- CERN
CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, is one of the world's largest and most respected centres for scientific research. Its business is fundamental physics, finding out what the Universe is made of and how it works. At CERN, the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments are used to study the basic constituents of matter – the fundamental particles. By studying what happens when these particles collide, physicists learn about the laws of Nature.
The institute is co-operating with the BE-CO-HT department on the renewal of the internal timing infrastructure.
- University of Hefei
Hefei University of Technology (HFUT) is one of the key universities in China. Now the university offers wide range for studying, covering machinery and automobile engineering, instrument science and opto-electronic engineering, material science and engineering, electric engineering and automation, computer and information, etc. HFUT and IISS cooperate in the exchange programs for research and teaching. Several stays of researchers have been already organized.
- ICT
The Institute of Computer Technology (ICT) is part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the Vienna University of Technology. The main areas of teaching and research are digital logic and microcomputers, computer architecture, data communication and networks, distributed information systems, ASIC development, bus systems, particularly field-bus systems and fault-tolerant systems, as well software engineering, requirements engineering, systems engineering, cognitive automation and autonomic systems.
- IDENTEC SOLUTIONS AG
IDENTEC SOLUTIONS is the global leader in wireless tracking and tracing solutions. The institute and ISA worked together in the European Project PABADIS'PROMISE in the area of active RFID.
- inIT
The Institut Industrial IT (inIT) is concerned with interdisciplinary industrial informatics research since the beginning of 2007. The questions in the field of industrial communication and industrial signal processing are of most interest.
The formation was funded through the programme "Kompetenzplattform (KOPF)" (Center of Excellence) of the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Research and Technology (MIWFT) of the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia. inIT is the first research institute of the OWL University of Applied Sciences.
Currently more than 40 employees are working on new concepts for networked embedded realtime systems.
All research projects are carried out in close cooperation with other scientific institutions and partners from the industry.
- ISAS
The Institute for Sensor and Actuator Systems of the Vienna University of Technology operates a versatile thin-film technology lab. Their technology portfolio comprises various photolithography processes, high-vacuum evaporation of metals and semiconductors, plasma enhanced deposition of silicon nitride and silicon oxide, dry reactive ion etching, silicon micromachining, waferbonding, and packaging techniques. This processes and a comprehensive line of inspection instruments as well as measurement equipment is accessible for cooperating partners of the ISAS.
- ITEI
The Institute of Instrumentation Technology and Economy is a non-profit scientific and technological organization. The tenet of the institute is to initiate research in instrumentation and industry automation, and to improve technology in the field of instrumentation and industry automation. There is a government cooperation program between ITEI and IISS, representing China and Austria, respectively.
- Medel AG
The Medel AG is on of the leading cochlea implant manufacturer in the world. With their products, they are setting new standards for quality and comfort in hearing aid production and medical care of cochlea implant user. In addition they are producing miniaturized mechanical middle-ear hearing aids (stimulator of stapedes vibration called sound bridge).
- NIST
Founded in 1901, NIST is a non-regulatory federal agency within the U.S. Department of Commerce. NIST's mission is to promote U.S. innovation and industrial competitiveness by advancing measurement science, standards, and technology. The NIST laboratory is conducting research that advances the nation's technology infrastructure and is needed by U.S. industry to continually improve products and services.
- Oregano
Oregano Systems Design and Consulting Ges.m.b.H. offers both IP cores and design services for FPGAs and embedded systems focused primarily but not exclusively on industrial electronics and telecom applications. A focus is on highly accurate and fault tolerant clock synchronization via Ethernet networks. Oregano actively participates in several research projects in close co-operation with IISS in order to maintain its technology leadership in highly accurate clock synchronization. Aside from its IP core business, the Oregano Systems design team offers full design support ranging from simple interface adaptations to complete SoC and Embedded Systems design.
- Technology and Research Center TFZ
The institute is located at the technology and research center TFZ in Wiener Neustadt. This center is home for many research groups from medical technology and electro chemistry to tribology and micro systems and therefore forms an innovative environment for inter disciplinary research. Wiener Neustadt is one of the technopols of the county of Lower Austria, where the county's activities for technology research are concentrated. The inter-disciplinary and practice-oriented approach of the Institute for Integrated Sensor Systems perfectly contributes to this environment.
